Positions in Tel Aviv, Israel

Internet.org is a Facebook initiative to connect the world to the internet. There are 4 billion people with no internet connectivity today, and we work with mobile operators on ways to provide connectivity and affordability of the internet to all. We have seen the deep impact on the people we help connect to the internet, 1 in 10 would find a new job, get knowledge on health, agriculture etc. we are a part of a truly amazing technological effort – from enhancing mobile operators technology to provide affordable data, to providing wifi access to rural villages that needs to withstand hard climate conditions and lack of energy, to satellites and Facebook's own UAVs that can bring connectivity to the furthest places on earth. We're already available to 1 billion people, and it is truly amazing to work on a program that touches so many people and changes the world.

Meet WhatsApp's First iOS Engineer, Igor S

I've been an iOS developer for the past seven years at WhatsApp. I started as a contractor in 2009 and relocated to California in 2013 to join the rest of the WhatsApp team. When I joined the team in 2009, there were only three employees! I helped to create the very first iOS version, which was pretty bare bones. At that time, the app only allowed users to update their status. In 2009, we created the chat feature and started adding more features as the years went on like location sharing, group chats, photo sharing and voice calls. I’m proud of the work our teams are doing. It's a great feeling to see how much our app has progressed over the years and to be a contributor.
